Every year at the end of October there is the famous Castagna Fair in Melezzole, a 12th century castle with a typically medieval structure, located in the Amerini Mountains, in the municipality of Montecchio. This year we have reached the XXIX edition.
The streets of the village are filled with typically autumn scents of roast chestnuts and wine; the tasting of the "marroni" is, as always, the pride of the Fair, but there are also tastings of typical local products such as mushrooms, honey, salami and much more.
The Fair is an opportunity to admire the creativity of the nursery and primary school children in the surrounding area, thanks to La Castagna d'Argento, a contest that annually brings together a large number of children from the participating institutions.
Moreover, skilled and skilled craftsmen show their manual skills through the streets of the historic center: canestrai, shoemakers, carpenters, show how to make quality products following the dictates of tradition.
